St. John Neumann Classroom Addition

New Construction

This Classroom/Multipurpose Room addition at St. John Neumann Church is a 2,700-square-foot freestanding building thoughtfully designed to expand the church’s educational campus. Currently in design and contracted through the Los Angeles Archdiocese, the new construction will provide two individual classrooms separated by a movable partition. This flexible configuration allows the rooms to function independently for smaller gatherings or open into one larger space to accommodate expanded programs, meetings, and parish events.

Architecturally, the building has been carefully designed to complement the existing campus, including the adjacent educational building and the church itself. The exterior materials reflect the established character of the site, featuring traditional stucco plaster finishes and a classic barrel tile roof. By blending cohesive design with adaptable interior functionality, this project will enhance the parish’s ability to serve its growing community while maintaining the architectural integrity of the campus.

Project Features

  • Architectural Continuity

The new classroom building was thoughtfully designed to reflect the architectural character of St. John Neumann Church and its adjacent educational facilities. By incorporating matching stucco finishes and a traditional barrel tile roof, the addition feels cohesive and intentional—seamlessly blending into the established campus. This continuity preserves the visual identity of the church while thoughtfully expanding its footprint.

  • Operable Partition

At the heart of the design is a movable partition that separates the two classrooms. This operable wall allows the spaces to function independently for smaller groups or open into one large multipurpose room for larger gatherings and events. The flexibility ensures the building can easily adapt to the evolving needs of the parish.
